* Get an osteopath to check your spine and back, as problems here can cause migraines.

Working with elderly people is not an easy job. Sometimes , you thought they are alright and then suddenly, you noticed they are pale and cannot breath. As a caregiver, its my responsibility to look after them and be aware on what's going on with their health.. So, if I think someone is having a heart attack the first thing I have to do .. Look out for symptoms such as severe chest pain, breathlessness, nausea, giddiness, sense of panic and doom, cold skin, and blue lips. If it is possible, sit them in a supported position with their knees bent.. Then call for an ambulance and say you suspect a heart attack. Then, give the medicine they may have for an existing heart problem.

I got curious about sleepwalking. So, I do research and I found out that Sleepwalking or called as somnambulism, it's a sleep disorder that occurs during phases of deep sleep. It's thought to be associated with stress and anxiety. And recent studies show that it may also be linked with tiredness and sleep deprivation. There's no evidence to support claims that waking a sleepwalker is dangerous, although they may become upset or hysterical if you do. It's best to guide them gently back to bed.

For the past 7 years here in Israel, I never been such nasty sneezing. Just 5 months ago after I went for a short holiday vacation from the Dead Sea. I started sneezing early morning right I get up from my bed and stop in the middle of the day then came back before going to bed. At the beginning I thought it was an ordinary cold. I took different kinds of cold tablets just to stop the sneezing but didn't help me. My poor lady (patient) said, its ridiculous that she is paying that blaming health insurance and I didn't use it. I thought I don't need a doctor and I hate to go to the doctor but then at the end I called my insurance and made an appointment to a Ear& Nose doctor.

I went yesterday to see a ear&nose doctor and he said I got  an Allergic Rhinitis. He prescribed me a nasal spray and tablets for runny and nose congestion. I have to take it for a month and come back after I finish the whole course of medication. (sigh) I hate taking drugs really but I don't have a choice than to suffer. 

What is Allergic Rhinitis - it is the inflammation of nasal passages, usually associated with watery nasal discharge and itching of the nose and eye.


This allergic rhinitis occurs anywhere in the world. In the U.S it ranks as the most common illness. The symptoms usually occurs in the nose and eyes after exposure to dust, or certain seasonal pollens in people that are allergic of these substances. These allergic rhinitis has no age preferences. And the risk increase if both of your parents have history of allergies

There are many seasonal allergens that are present causes allergic rhinitis. Dust, mites, cockroaches, molds, pet pollens, those are examples that are presents all the year round. Plants and trees also part of seasonal pollens through cross wind pollination.

The symptoms of these allergic rhinitis usually includes repetitive sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion, itchy eyes and ears and general fatigue. If you all have this symptoms, go straight to you ear & nose doctor and asked for a medication. And if you are diagnosed with this kind of allergic, they usually gives you antihistamines and decongestants. That is tablets or capsules and nasal spray which is always available in all drug stores. 

The goal of these treatment is only to reduce the allergy symptoms. As self care- try to avoid  that causes the allergy.

What if you have a patient and you thought she is absolutely fine but seems to be more forgetful than usual? What have you think about that? Do you jump to the conclusion that she has alzheimer's disease?  In my experience for 2 years looking after alzheimer's patient , and base also from friends who have the same problems with their patient , yes we automatically concluded that being forgetful and repeating 100 times of what they said is an early detection of alzheimer. As my interest of tis  disease, because some patient won't accept that they have it. I read some articles as far I remember , the kind of symptoms that needed to be checked are short term memory loss that affects the daily function of the person. And I think she emphasized not only to elderly person but to those middle age people who detect themselves of this kind of symptoms. People accepted or not but she said it is normal forgetfullness of aging but needed to be aware of. Like for example , If you forget your keys are that's an oridanary problems , even sometimes it happens to me. But if you don't remember what they're used for , then you needed to be evaluated. And this illness are not curable, unlike dimentia patient they are drugs available in drug store, that you can't control they anger and whatsoever.

I found out today that eating banana contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose. So, if you want a quick fix for flagging energy level, eat banana atleast once a day. If combines with fiber, a banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial source of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90 minute work out. No one wonder the banana is the no. 1 fruit with the world leading athletes. But energy, isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illness and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily life. I'm going to maintain now, eating banana to make me physically fit. You can add it to your cereals when you eat in the morning.
